Best Thailand Hospitals

Featured Replies

I just recently moved here and would like to know what are the best Hospitals around or near Silom?

I often get treated for blood diffusion and need dialysis. Thanks in advance.

Silom area? BNH is one of the best around the area. Its on Convent Road which is opposite Silom Soi 4 ( if i remember well).

You have 4 choices in the immediate area:

1. Chulalonghorn (Rama Iv rd) - a major government teaching hospital. Lots of red tape and long waits but good quality care at the lowest price. Doctors will usually speak English but not the nursing or administrative staff, helps to have a Thai speaker along at least the first time.

2. BNH - upscale private hospital catering to international community. No waits, prompt and efficient service, English-speaking, good quality, but very expensive.

3. Bangkok Chrisitian (on Silom) - a nonprofit private hospital, less English speaking than BNH but they'll always find someone to help translate. Price about midway between the extremes of BNH and Chula.

4. St Louis Hospital (Sathorn) - also a nonprofit private hospital, tends to cost less than BNH and is usually the least expensive private option, only a government hospital will cost less. Friendly atmosphere and docs/staff tends to take their time with patients.

All of these places have dialysis centers.

#2 - 4 have websites wherein you can check out the qualifications of doctors in advance, although the St Louis one has some glitches (you have to go to Clinics, select the relevant clinic, then click on "online appointment" and the list of docs will appear. Search function doesn't work).
