Starting on guest cottage, and need to find septic tank for obvious reasons:) I read after an odious search that Homemart carries them, but are they the best bang for the baht?

Thanks

the best bang for the baht is a stack (at least 4 or 5) of one meter diameter concrete rings with a leach line (or two) at the top

the rings are made for that purpose

Soi off Chang Puek road, directly opposite entrance to the Mecure/Tops etc. There is a bathroom/plumbing supplies place with a big showroom and warehouse that stocks all sorts of tanks and parephenalia at good prices. N.B. there is a tile place on the corner, then another small bathroom supplies place, it's immediately after that on the left, about 30M into the soi.

Concrete rings will pollute your ground-water.

That depends on a number of factors and is not necessarily true.

Or they will fill up with ground water.

They are for sale every where, most those who are selling water tanks and building materials sell them as well.

To many to list.

when using the concrete rings run only the toilet waste pipe into it make sure the thing is sealed with the concrete top and has a small vent which should have mosquito screening.this way there is so little water that it won't contaminate your well and the waste will be taken care of by bacteria, but you might not want to put one next to the other. the grey water from the sink shower washing machine etc should go elsewhere.

if you get the plastic septic tank it just catches the solids and then you still need the rings for the overflow unless you want to pump it weekly.
