My Gf was denied her visitor visa this morning, as we expected having only know one another now for several weeks,

so this morning i spoke with a man in Bangkok you claims he can sort out a fiancé visa guaranteed, once i send him a search from our British embassy to confirm that i have never been married...

and for this service he wants £1000 ... humm ( NO visa NO pay ) apparently. i have read posts on here about this working for the cost of £500,

but i am not altogether convinced, surly it is up to the ECO at the embassy??

has anyone had any dealing of this kind, if so i would appreciate any advice

many thanks

In my experiance so far, no agency can guarantee your Gf a fiancee visa. I used someone who said the same, and also that he had a 100% success rate. Guess what, said did not get a visa after her interview.

They are usefull for helping with the paperwork and giving your Gf interview practice and an insight as to what might be asked in an interview, but it is all on the day and up to the ECO.

Think about it for a moment. They have refused a visit visa as they don't believe the relationship is genuine as you have not known each other for long enough. They are not going to believe that she is now your fiance and intends to marry you, are they?!

£1000 is vastly overpriced. A genuine agent would charge less than half that. A genuine agent would also advise as I have above. Avoid.

A visa agent cannot influence the decision of the ECO!

As I 've said to you before, in this thread, get to know her better and for longer. Ask her to explain why you hear farmyard noises when you phone her in Bangkok, as well. It seems to me that she is desperate to get to the UK. Too desperate. Why?

hi GU22

regarding the refusal ... the embassy said that they did not believe she would return to thailand, and because she did not know my mobile number and address off the top of her head, was another reason, although my thought s there are how many people know folks numbers when these days all you have to do i press a button with a name on it. … and well i would not be able to recite her address, but again i have it written down ... anyway

as for the 'farm yard" noises she lives a two hour travel distance from the embassy. In Klongsamprawet, Khate ladkabang (now i dont have a clue about where that is) so maybe you can spread some light on that for me GU22..

I take you advise regarding switching from a GF visitor visa to a fiancé visa, i agreed it looks too strangle to be trying that..

she is not pushing me into this visa, rather the other way around, as i can not see the problem with her coming to see me as soon as possible.

all we want to do is spend some time together (if so Bangkok for Christmas for me)

she is terrified about applying for a visa over and over again, she tells me that if she applies 3 times for visa and is refused, that she will never be able to come to the Uk, is that correct??

regards peter

by the way im 35 and she is 20

There's no rule that says that 3 visa refusals results in an automatic bar from applying for others. Each visa application is treated on its own merits and a previous refusal doesn't automatically result in the refusal of subsequent applications. However, if the applicant's circumstances remain unchanged since the last refusal, the visa officer might still decline to issue the visa.

In relation to your girlfriend's perceived lack of knowledge of you, unfortunately the visa officer can have his cake and eat it. If the applicant knows little of the sponsor, the visa can be refused for that reason, and if the applicant knows everything, the visa officer can infer that he/she has been schooled in what to say (and refuse the visa).

Scouse.

Which is exactly what I said would happen in the other thread, for the reasons I gave then.

Not sure where Klongsamprawet, Khate ladkabang is, neither is the wife but that may be down to my pronunciation/you transcription. Did she tell you this before or after you asked why you hear farmyard noises in the background when you phone.

BTW, are you in UK or LOS at the moment?

If it helps LADKRABANG is a district on the outskirts of Bangkok and is nearly reached by the skytrain that stops at ON-NUT ROAD.

Another thought is ..why do so few people question whats so wrong with bringing a girl/boy friend to the UK anyway , no matter how long you have known them. Why do we allow these ECO's to play God?? Of course, like so many things that impinge on our freedom nowadays in the UK, it is media driven. Any piece of scum can enter with impunity from Europe so why not let all the Thais in too?? From my experience they are a lot nicer than a lot of the Europeans who can just march in, or for that matter the Americans too.

All this nonsence about "provide this document, prove this , prove that ....." why?? If Americans can come in why not Thais??

Thanks, Silomfan. This has helped, and the wife says she knows where now. It is, she says, an industial area with a power station, but no farms.

Silomfan, whether one agrees with visa systems or not, and remember many countries have harsher visa regimes than the UK, they do exist. Those of us who wish to travel internationaly have to deal with the entry rules of the countries we wish to visit, and if we wish to have forign nationals visit us we have to deal with the entry rules of our own country.

Basically, we have to deal with the world as it is, not as we wish to to be.
