Can You Get Free To Air Thai Tv In Uk Using Dreambox?

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Dont know much about how it all works but if I got it all setup in the UK could I get a signal for a thai satalite so that I could get free to air chanels so that the missus can watch some thai tv when in the uk or is this just not possible?

Hello there, yes its possible to pick up the Thai Global network channel from 13 degrees east on Eutelsat Hotbird 6 but check with this site (satbeams.com) to make sure its still transmitting from this satellite first.

Thats correct, I live in Ireland and have the same setup. TGN is free also, they have a website I believe.

Just for the OP...

Dreambox is not the key here. You need satellite at the sky covering UK that transmits free to view Thai channels. Then you need to aim your antenna to that satellite and you can use any set top box that works with that particular feed.

You can also get all channels recorded for £5 per month...no need for a satellite dish...

Does that also mean I can take my box from true visions and continue to pay them money each month and I can get the feed in the UK or is that a totally different satalite?

And at http://www.bbtvthai.com/index.php There's live Thai TV (including channels 3 and 7wai.gif ) plus loads of recorded programs. I think I paid £13 for three months and £25 for six. But be warned, unless you've got two PC's, you'll never get on there again yourselfmad.gif .

That's a different satellite that can't been 'seen' from the UK.

Hi Justice,

It's a website similar to bbc iplayer but for all thai tv channels...

Better than live tv in my opinion, the time difference makes it difficult to

Watch live channels from uk... And it works on iphone too..as somrit puts it you will never get to see your pc again... :-)

Thai Global network channel from 13 degrees east on Hotbird 6 over Europe,

frequency 10815 and is free to air

As I write this the lady is reading the news

What is not completely correct. It is possible to get signal from the Thaicom satellite because it uses low frequency signal but you will need a parabolic antenna of research meters or larger...

If you study the yellow footprint (C-band) extreme edge, it does NOT reach the UK.

The True channels are all on Ku-band and very localised to the SE Asia region
