could anyone please let me know if the golf courses in the hua hin area have been affected by the floods as i will be there in mid jan after a couple of days in bkk and if they are open are they busy looking at the flights to and from bkk there does not seem to be a lot of people visiting.

The golf courses here have not been affected by the Bangkok floods. They are all open to play on, as far as I know.

No floods, but a couple let themselves be affected by drought this time of the year. We typically don't get any rain from November to April and some of the course operators let the grass die, but the better ones; Springfield, Black Mountain, Banyan, the Suan Son Military course are in great shape.
