A BICYCLE CARAVAN WAS RELEASED IN COMMEMORATING WORLD AIDS DAY

December 1st marks the World AIDS Day, and a bicycle caravan has been released in PATTAYA, CHONBURI Province to raise awareness of the disease.

Public Health Minister PHINIJ JARUSOMBAT (พินิจ จารุสมบัติ) has released an anti-AIDS caravan from the PATTAYA City Hall. He also stamped his handprint onto a canvas in affirming Thailand's commitment to this year's World AIDS Day slogan "Stop AIDS Keep that Promise".

The Ministry of Public Health will be handing out condoms to people considered at risk of contracting HIV, and will install as many as 4,000 condom vending machines throughout the country.

Plans for 2006 include increasing the amount of teens that use condoms to 50%, as the number of new HIV infections in the 15-19 years old age group has climbed up to 18,000 cases this year.

Good idea to keep making people aware.

What on earth is a bicycle caravan?

Why did it need releasing, was it in prison?

High time the government hired some PR people who speak and write

ENGLISH.

Plans for 2006 include increasing the amount of teens that use condoms to 50%, why not 100 % ? as the number of new HIV infections in the 15-19 years old age group has climbed up to 18,000 cases this year. :oIn the years that Thailand's Senator "Condom King" was funded by the central government to educate the populace on population control and AIDS education, the number of HIV + cases declined dramatically. Bring back the Condom King!
