METEOROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT ISSUES YET ANOTHER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR RESIDENTS LIVING ON THE EAST COAST OF THE SOUTHERN REGION

The Meteorological department has issued another weather advisory warning of possible heavy to very heavy rain on the East coast of the Southern region.

The weather bureau states that strong northeastern monsoon has covered the Eastern southern provinces of Thailand, while a low pressure trough remains over Chumporn (ชุมพร), Surattani (สุราษฎร์ธานี ), Nakornsitammarat (นครศรีธรรมราช ), Pattalung (พัทลุง), Songkhla (สงขลา), Pattani (ปัตตานี), Yala (ยะลา), and Naratiwat (นราธิวาส). That will cause heavy rain in the region during today and tomorrow. The Meteorological Department has warned the people in those provinces to watch for possible dangers and damages caused by flash floods and overflows during these few days.

In addition, high waves in the Gulf of Thailand have strengthened especially in areas where there are heavy downpours. The Department asked that fishermen proceed with more caution while small ships should stay ashore during these few days.
