i recently finished my 3bb 6meg broadband contract, so i gave the router they supplied to my friend because she wants a wifi router, as she only has cable connection with her TOT broad band. we can connect to the router with wifi fine, but the internet just does not come through the router.

does any one know why this is?

Have you got the correct setting for TOT.

The modem router should be able to work if you have the right setting for that individual provider you are connecting.

oh, i thought these were just plug and play, what settings would i need to change

The setting in the modem on the connection type you need to input your friends TOT username and password as well.

Connection type for TOT is as follow,

Service Provider Name : TOT

Encapsula tion : PPPoE

Mutiplexi ng : LLC

Modulatio n : G.DMT

VPI : 1

VCI : 32
