Can anyone recommend any good jewellery stores, or jewellery districts, in Bangkok? I need to buy a silver or gold wedding band for the missus.

You need to have a knowledge of gold and silver in order to avoid possible scams and to buy well in Bangkok. If not, then find a Thai or farang to help you. Charoen Krung rd Bangrak is the stone district here in BKK. 5 minutes from Patpong in a Tookie or cab.

If you're wife is a Thai (isan) then i wouldn't bother. When things inevitably turn sour she will sell it. You wont get your money back.

Jewelry in Thailand is the biggest waste of time. Its simply currency for nasty females.
