Hiv Test

Featured Replies

Hi

Is there any reliable anonymous HIV test places in pattaya, clinic/hospital?

I know about the red cross in Bangkok but would like to get it done in pattaya

Thanks

There is a blood test clinic on 3rd road just past Soi 17 on the right a couple of hundred meters before the bali hi flyover.

Pattaya tai just up from tukcom on the other side of the road. Actually many in that area. Any hospital also.

There are some clinics which to a rapid - oral - tests. you get your results in 20 minutes. but this still wont give you any help if (whatever you did ) happened last night.

HIV tests will not give a reliable result until 90 days after the point of potential infection.

Hi Guys

Thanks for all the advice.

The two places mentioned in replies, has anybody used them?

Or have people just read the sign as they drive past?

I would like some firsthand experience, if anybody has this.

BTW I have no knowledge of any anonymous hospitals in pattaya

For HIV testing, anyone?

Thank you.

Most of the clinics for rapid test use cheap and unreliable tests made in China. Stay away from these places. Go to Memorial Hospital, tell them you lost your ID, give them fake info and tell them you will pay in cash. You can get a proper HIV test there. However, it can take up to 90 days before you're 100% in the clear.

As I just posted in a similar topic yesterday:

If you have money to burn BPH is the luxury option.

Personally I use Pattaya Lab in Naklua. Most tests are around 100-300 baht each. Rarely any queue. Nice and friendly Thai lab guy who speaks passable English and has no problems dealing with farangs. Tests in the morning and you get the lab results in a professional PDF file by email by the afternoon.

I don't know if he does HIV tests specifically but I can't see why not. Perhaps give him a call if you want to make sure before going there, his number is on his website. If anonymity is important don't give him your real name, he doesn't ask for ID.

Any of the hospitals including the cheaper "Banglamung" hospital

A few years ago I went to BPH and they charged 700 baht for an HIV test. Not bad

I just recently got ALL of my blood tests done for a Job Requirement in the UAE and went to Banglamung and got HIV, Hep-C, Malaria, and TB (with a follow up of sputum sample) and it was 300 baht.

Told I would have the results within 1 week, I had them in 5 days.

The ones that claim to have it the same day are not real bloodwork tests done by a specialist as ALL tests are sent to Bkk.

The cheaper/faster tests only check for "antibodies" in your blood that would show if you did have HIV that your body is trying to fight it off so maybe good enough for what you are looking for but I needed the certificate also and I think that was an extra 100 baht.

Your comment that all blood work is sent to Bangkok is complete rubbish. If you don't know the truth don't go spouting off with inaccurate information. Also the 20 minute tests for HIV carried out here provide a certificate that is accepted by UK Insurance institutions. Have a look at the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya website then publicly state they send ALL blood work to BKK see the mods pull the post off the site as it would be libellous.
