Came out of Aek Udon Thani hospital yesterday and this truck was parked behind mine. I've seen full sized dodges and chevs from Laos and now this ford.

Wish I could get one in Thailand

also a bit strange its on a yellow 'work' plate.

rather than a white plate.

Laos plate

used to have these big riggs, been wanting to bring a RAM 8,0 here, but with new Ford Ranger and Mazda BT50 coming, they dont offer much more on power (mazda/ford 3,2 is 260hp/600Nm 6auto), comfort or space

Remember the F350 Super Duty at the Auto Show a few years ago?

I’ve had quite a few full size pickups in the US, and I wouldn’t want to drive any of them here, with the possible exception of my Ford 50th Anniversary Edition ’53 F100…

That one is THE TRUCK.

400-500 HP

Suspension made for for 100Km/h desert and off road travel, not many trucks

can handle a beating like that.

35 inch BFG AllTerrain stock tyres (Dmax, Hilux, Triton, Ranger have a silly 29?)

I saw a white one in Laos the other week, I have photos too, it could be the same one.

A fantastic vehicle for Thailands damaged roads.

A perfect combination of power and rough beauty.

The other stock version trucks are pale, slow and fragile in comparison.

I love that truck.

You can, if you paycool.png

Saw a Toyota 5.6L on Jomtien Beach 2 weeks ago, man its big. Fuel consumption must be a bit of a nightmare.

I don’t know, my ’99 GMC Sierra with a 5.3L engine got 18.5 MPG (7.9 KPL) long term average.

I'm pretty immune to factory trucks in general but you're right about this one. That's why it grabed my attention.

According to the website its 411 hp stock, 6.2L, (400CI). Full name, Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. it's not just a truck its a high performance vehicle. The only other one I've seen on the road was in Houston Texas.

I've seen all kinds of very nice American trucks and cars in Udon, all with Laos license plates. Advantage of being a left hand drive country. Must be money somewhere in that little communist country.

Price I'm sure would make my eyes water, A Lao guy told me a normal Vigo is twice the price as compared to Thailand.

You can get the Tunda in right hand drive but this ones not available.

I'll have to settle for 2nd best once the 3.2L wildtrack hits the roads.

The F150 Raptor (as per pics) is only available in LHD, so that means little to no chance of even any of the gray market importers 'picking it up' (pun intended)..

If you were going to go through the expense of personally importing one and converting it to RHD, you may as well go for the 810HP Velociraptor version instead IMHO: http://www.hennessey...2raptor800.html

The Ram 8.0, is that the V10, same engine as the Viper? One of my neighbours in Holland had one, all black including the wheels. Could have been a V8 though. One of his friends brought a souped-up Viper over one day. Window panes rattling everywhere, but great sound (made a change from the two Maseratis in my street!). Nice, (the Ram) but parking at your local supermarket is something of a problem.
