Surprised that SIN is not number 1 as in the 15 years I thought its the airport by which all others are judged. Used Beijing Capital a few times recently and it is excellent and massive.

I can't see SVP making the top 20 at the moment, for a number of reasons.

Interesting that they're all in Asia. My flights to and from AMS have always been good.

I think Swampy is a better airport than Singapore. I've never understood the plaudits Singapore gets. Everytime I walk through it (monthly) it always feels really oppressive with that 1980s carpet, dimlighting and low ceilings.

HK is the best in the world by a country mile - everything about it works well and so efficiently.

what flights are you taking? you are probably just in and out of the oldest terminal in singapore. I too been in and out monthly. Do not think its the best out there but the new terminal are pretty impressive and I definitely do not like the experience getting out of the plane with shaky stairs to board on a sardine packed shuttle bus

No idea. I'm always on the main carriers such as SIA, CX etc, so I suspect I'm at a good terminal. I just find the place a bit dreary stifling. Go to the CX lounge for example, and tell me that is anywhere near as good as those in HK or Bkk.

I too hate the experience of boarding a plane by the bus. The only time I recall that happening at Swampy was on the Air Asia flight to Phnom Penh, but I could be wrong.

Interestingly, I had the same experience on the Dragon Air PP to HK flight last night. I had never used a bus at HK airport - I didnt know they even did it.

The other annoying thing I don't like about Changi is the fact there are different terminals. Swampy's single terminal solution is infinitely preferable.

Terminal 1 at Changi is undergoing a huge upgrade right now. T 1 was indeed their "oldest".

One thing I do NOT like at Changi as well as in Hong Kong is the fact that the terminals can be very far from each other and you have to take a train, or sometimes even a train and another shuttle-bus (in Changi, going from and to the LCT to another Terminal).

I really do LIKE the idea of a ONE TERMINAL airport. admittedly the walks can be long, but there are enough moving walkways if you are not fit / willing to walk a longer distance.

what I of course do NOT like is to wait 1-2 hrs just to get a stamp to be cleared to leave the country (the prospect of another such queueing in just 48 hrs from now makes me almost wanna vomit).

this will actually be the main reason why Swampy won't make it to the top-5 any time soon.... apart from that: no complaints

Fair enough. I think I'm spoilt with the ABTC card thing - it just whisks me through the priority channel in both directions. And when I arrive here in HK, I use the HKID card with a chip and don't need a passport.
