Best Internet Option

Featured Replies

When I have been in thailand earlier I have bought Dtac sim card and connected my macbook trough a mobile phone, but it has always been problems with it.

Now I have 1 Ipad (first generation) and iPhone 4s.

What would the best option be for internet?

I'm going to stay around 1 month close to Chiang Mai.

I tried searching on Dtac and TOT webpage but didn't understand it.

Its best to have a prepaid sim card (micro sim) that I can put into my iPhone, and then I can share internet between iPhone, iPad and macbook. Or if I jail brake Ipad I can share internet trough it.

What would you recommend?

I am pretty sure your iPhone 4S can be used to create a Personal WiFi Hotspot, allowing you to share the mobile broadband data (2G/3G) connection with your iPad and macbook. I am honestly not sure if you can access the mobile broadband connection from the iPhone 4S, let's call it 'natively', while it is in the Personal WiFi Hotspot mode. I assume you would turn that off and then just access the internet with the iPhone 4S.

That said, all three major service providers all have service in Chiang Mai, so purchase a uSIM, put it in the iPhone 4S, activate it, add money, choose a plan, easy peasy.
