Best Place To Buy "Unusual" Supplements And Vitamins

Recommended Posts

I have been fruitlessly searching for a set of supplements to help me manage my thyroid condition, including l-carnitine, grapefruit seed extract and selenium. Where can I buy these? I have checked Boots and all of the usual places...and nada.

l-carnitine and selenium because they sooth a hyper thyroid and brings the levels down...and gse b/c the meds I am on suppress my immune system terribly, and i don't want to end up contracting TB or something. Need to get all of these things ASAP.

Thanks Kalbo, but it doesn't help me as their website is all in Thai and I cannot read it.

Try Google translate. It will translate the whole page.

You can buy pure L-Carnitine from Thai Sports Supplements.

You could also track down what you want on eBay.

I've seen grapeseed extract sold at Watson's and Fascino.

A little bit of effort and initiative won't go amiss. You seem to be in need of something , but won't get off your arse to get it.

Speaking of <deleted> - no need to be one in your response. I was not looking for a place to buy online, I was looking for an actual shop. I guess I did not make this clear in my original question.

What is Fascino?

Fascino's is a very large chain pharmacy. in Bangkok, located in Thonburi across from Siriraj Hospital.

GNC shops will have most or all of what you mention. Exopensive though. Found in many malls.

maybe i can help you...

there is a little shop (in a big cart) in Central Bangna..on the 4th floor (along the walkway)..i usually buy my BCAA, glocusamine, protein powders, hydroxy..

Does anyone know where you can buy the health supplement krill oil in Bangkok?

Scroll up to my previous reply in this thread, and you can buy it there. Failing that, read the post directly above yours (about the cart type stall in Central Bangna) as you can buy it there. It's right next to a line of video games, as you come up the escalator. Again, failing that, you can go to MBK where there are about 6-7 stall selling all kinds of imported supplements, albeit quite expensive. Now if the price is too high, or there is not enough variety, try one of the online places that will import the stuff for you at minimal cost.

Definitely check out iHerb as Newbie suggested. They are wonderful. I just received a shipment, value US$102, and had no customs duty or VAT charged. (Very unusual and probably a glitch.) Make sure to use their online chat feature right after you order (or before), and tell them to use HC (Harmonized Code) 2936.90 (vitamins), and to label the contents description as "Vitamin supplements for personal use". The most duty you'll pay is 10%. You can google "Harmonized Code Thailand" and find out what code to use if you are ordering something other than vitamins. iHerb will also ship airmail via USPS post office, if you can wait. There is no insurance or tracking with USPS, but you probably won't have to pay any duty/vat. I use DHL or Fedex.

Try searching at Amazon first because they give great descriptions, then check out iHerb. The cost is about the same for the vitamins. But the shipping is MUCH less expensive from iHerb. They only charge $4 flat fee for airmail to Thailand, if your package is less than 4#. I paid $12 for DHL package of 2.5#. It arrived in 5 working days to CM.

For a thyroid condition specifically, are you taking eltroxin / thyroxine? Just wondering. If you are, and don't feel all that great, try another manufacturer: Some binding agents work better than others.

Hope you can find what you are looking for!

Cheers.
