Need Foam Added To Bike Seat

Featured Replies

I want to add a bit of foam to my new bike seat anyone know a good shop. I live off Chiang Mai Gate

There were a few shops up the other end of Wulalai road not far from you that used to repair motorbike / car seats so they would have the foam required, I guess they are still there. Go past the cow monument and on the right hand side.

WAS that bike or motorbike ??

Most bike stores I now inside the mote have bike seat covers with gel inserts or extra padding

AFAIK there is only one shop on Wua lai Rd that does bike seats well, and that is before the Bull on the right side.

Another shop that is quite good is just past (50 Mtrs?) the original RimPing supermarket on the same side heading south on the old Lamphun Rd/Nong Hoi road.

Post back your results when the job is done and how good or bad the end result is....haven't been to either places in a while!

There is an absolute gem of a guy who does this service highly professionally.. Can use multiple compounds of foam, carves it how you want, and makes superb custom covers.. I took him a picture of a corbin seat and he made one just how i wanted, many of the big bike crowd use him.

Hes here.

LivinLos found the guy on your link he will do the remodle on the new PCX for 1500baht. Just taking that bump off today was a big improvement in comfort. Having said that any one know where I could have a cover made for the PCX, seat man said he could not do it/

Thanks for the link, he speaks just enough english to explain.

Hope you'll post some photos when done...1500 Baht(!)...I did some changes on my CBR seat for 150...well,it is smallersmile.png ...For the cover, why not to try BigC or Lotus.they are quite OK and inexpensive...

had mine done on wulalai too.. 200 baht or so for some foam added and new seat cover.

Picked up mine today looks great and I am very happy with result. I will do a short ride tomorrow and see how comfortable it is.

There are so many places around town where seat foam can be changed/made. One guy on superhighway did my bike why I waited.

However Finding soft Japanese foam is normal.

I still do not know where to find the Harder/Firmer, BMW type of foam which makes for a more comfortable ride over along distance.
