Marriage - What'S At Stake If It Goes Wrong? Uk Man.

oh dear, don't get your knickers in a twist.

As far as I know, you don't know me & know nothing about what I have or haven't seen so calm yourself.

My advice to the op is sound. To get actual legal advice rather than asking posters who can only provide their own version of events & quite often harbor bitterness to ex partners in the west which cloud their judgment.

You claim to have attended family court, making you either accuser, accused or staff.

(feel free to correct me if I have missed an alternate role)

I think we can both agree, anyone attending such hearings could well harbor bitterness towards the opposite sex.

Are there any good lawyers out there who will specialise in my many many 'what if' scenarios relating to marrying a thai girl and bringing her over here? At the point now where I'd like to get a bit of legal advice but not sure who to turn to.

Surprised there haven't been any stories from English guys who have divorced Thai girls over here... maybe everyone is happily in love (just like me...)

Maybe there are many more but it's a loss of face, (to the English man) to say that you have lusted loved and lost ... hence, not to regale the details here on a Public Forum.

No-one really likes to admit failure ...

Just some friendly advice. Maybe you should be more concerned with how to protect your assets NOW rather then later when divorce proceedings are underway.

Personally I would be consulting a British solicitor advice on this rather than any Thai lawyer.

There was a case in the uk of Katrin Radmacher back in 2010 whereby the judge backed her pre nup agreement, but I do believe in 2012 there remains no set precedence as yet in the UK.

A good many foreigners have come to the conclusion of "keep your wife in Thailand and dont introduce her to your homeland & assets" for this very reason.

There are many topics raised in the sub forums on this very subject.

Good that you are keeping your wits about you and erring on the side of caution.
