Doing a small tile project and need a Table like tile wet saw.

I have tried for days to do it just with the hand grinder with dimond blade but just no luck.

I am looking where I can rent, beg, barrow, or steal one to use for a few days to make a few cuts needed for some built in cubby shelves.

Any ideas please ?

I was going to say the same as Hellodolly; As for tiles, there is a 'tile heaven' in Chiang Mai and it's the Home Sukhaphan store on the Middle Ring, in between the Sankamphaeng and Doi Saket roads. (Past Payap). Nothing short of incredible what they have there when it comes to tiles. As for tools: I don't know, but it would be a good place to ask.

I HAVE one here in Maejo that i brought from states.. sliding table. 10 inch blade. how much u have to do??

Most of the wall area and floor is fine. However I have some indented areas in the shower I was tiling to hold like shampoo bottles and razors etc. I wanted the edges done at 45's and nice clean cuts. most I have been doing by hand for the edges and the tile chips alittle

Happy to rent, pay deposit, or even hire out if you wanted to help with a few cuts

This is in town near the river

45 deg angles almost impossible with tiling- use the plastic tile trim and stop messing about,....

and always cut on the besat side to avoid chipping.

this is why they sell tile trim; it makes the job easier and more professional. (not being cynical..honest!)

I was cutting some real finicky tile today, it had a tendency to break before it was cut. I was using a side grinder with a marble cutter attached. To remedy the problem, I started using a little water, and not only did the tiles hang in there to be cut proper, there was less chipping than normal. My two baht

Depends a lot on the kind of tile, glazed tile is difficult to cut well on a 45 but the tile that is uniform material all the way through, no glaze, can be cut easier on a 45 with good results.

ditto..used to be able to buy bull nosed tiles in Canada..never seen 'em here though..aluminum tile trim looks nicer than plastic unless white on white ...

having said that still got somewhat ugly tile edges around bathtub platform..ended up painting 'em...live and learn..next time or sometime never job to replace...lol.

....sometimes wondered if it is possible to use a welding torch or..to melt the glaze...getting too hard methinks....coffee1.gif

Did you consider just filling in the "niche" which is....lets be honest 70s design!!!

and then buying a nice stainless steel condiment hanger for your shampoo and hair dye.

no cuts at allclap2.gif

sometimes a facetious answer is whats needed.
