phiphidon
Meanwhile, Anusorn Iamsa-ard, the acting government spokesman affirmed that Mr Thaksin is not involved in intervening in the government’s policies and called for the opposition leader to disclose their evidence and take legal action if he has pictures or video clips. He said the opposition should not accuse Mr Thaksin without evidence. Fugitive criminal k. Thaksin is the subject here, it does seem a wee bit strange to have a government spokesman making this type of statement. In my innocence I thought the current government led by the Pheu Thai "it's not about Thaksin" party ? Anyway with defamation laws in Thailand as they are, I expect k. Noppadon representing k. Thaksin to file a defamation case against a few Democrats. With K. Thaksin too busy with his Songkhran holiday trips, we may expect more development early next week. Perhaps Abhisit has found those missing web pages rubl, you know, the ones with photo of Thaksin embracing the rebel leader or some such nonsense, the ones that were there but aren't now. Probably those folk in the "Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary" building are responsible. Now I'm really wondering about you, dear PPD. Do you mean these chaps: "The National Human Rights Commission of Thailand Office of the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand The Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary 5th December, B.E. 2550 (2007) 120 Chaengwattana Road, Laksi, Bangkok 10210" or these: "Constitutional Court of Thailand ศาลรัฐธรรมนูญ The Government Complex Commemorating His Majesty the King's 80th Birthday Anniversary, 5th December, BE 2550 (2007), Building A, No. 120, Mu 3, Thanon Chaeng Watthana, Khwaeng Thung Song Hong, Khet Laksi, Bangkok" No, The ICT, the ones that allegedly blocked 2Bangkok.com but it was just an April Fools - but with a serious message behind it for all politicians of every hue. sawadeeken
I didn't see anything in the article that Taksin was negotiating the terrorists AWAY from terrorism. It could well be that he meet with them to sponsor them and encourage their 'dastardly' acts........................ He is 'devious' enough to cause loss of life ---- to further his cause. Surely the existence of a photograph of Thaksin cozying up to an insurgent leader, which the democrats insist happened, can be published to the world and his dog and this wouldn't make a blind bit of difference to the fact that apparently Abhisit regards "this is an important matter and the existing problem is related to several ongoing matters." .Whatever that means. tragickingdom
We are looking forward to hear about the sources and proof. In most cases however Abhisit or his Southern bomber friends will not reveal much more that someone whose name starts with the Letter F, X or G has heard that there were talks. If Abhisit only had sat down with the terrorists which were a ghost of his brain in Bangkok. He would not have had to appear for the ICC.

anterian
The PULO website has nothing to say about such a meeting, I have also checked several cached versions of the website in case photos or comments were deleted. My conclusion is that Abhisit is shooting blanks, his excuse for not producing his claimed "proof", that is concerns "National Security", rings very hollow. How could a picture of Thaksin embracing a PULO leader jeopardise national security?
Jerrytheyoung
Any attempt to get Peace is a good thing. It should be the honour of any PM to have tried to solve this issue. Weaponry will not solve the problem, diplomacy and discussions are the only way to get an agreement. Basic: to stop a war or a guerrilla, diplomats and discussions and evidently the first contacts are always 'secrete" as the military pressure has to be maintained in order to keep some pressure and attain a balanced agreement. So Abhisit should stay quiet, it is a non event. But if on his side, he has done nothing during his time as PM, History will not be on his side... And do you really think Thaksin will go down in History as the greatest thing that happened to Thailand??? or the worst thing that Bu****ed up Thailand??? On this specific point, Abhisit is wrong to attack. Even if on a sea of other issues, Thaksin can be severely critised and history will take him accountant. The passion must not make you blind and criticise systematically or you loose your own credibility..

Mr.Thaksin has stayed away for a while, waiting for the fruit to ripen, now he is holding his rallies on two actual land borders and a third disputed border. Did he know something? Is that correct? No idea, you just started a new rumour I think. May I suggest you either ask k. Nattawut or k. Thaksin's son. When k. Abhisit was on a short holiday trip when no one asked him to help with the flooding problem those two knew where he was and how he went there Edit: Add: not a new rumour, just the very obvious suggestion that k. Abhisit's trip to Yala and the recent bombing in HatYai are somehow related. Similar to k. Thaksin annoying insurgents to the point they start bombing when k. Abhisit is in the neighbourhood and sister Yingluck comes looking what happened as no-one told her. Edited April 9, 2012 by rubl

As to why I can think of some possibilities, no proof though Refering to the OP, maybe no-one is interested enough to ask the opposition leader for details. Maybe just (another?) smear campaign against poor, old innocent k. Thaksin. Mind you if it's a 'smear campaign' I would have expected legal advisor k. Noppadon, or some cabinet ministers, or some Pheu Thai MP's or the like to have filed a defamation case against some Democrats already. Maybe k. Thaksin out of the "I'll be back" feeling just bides his time? Hardly, he's on record as not seeking revenge, or something like "when I'm back and people see I'm not seeking revenge all will like me". Home to relax, play golf with the coupmaker Gen.
