Air Rifles & Air Guns

Featured Replies

Hi I am interested in taking up an old hobby of mine which is shooting air rifles and hand guns for target practice.

Firstly is owning one legal in Thailand?

Are there any specialized shops in Thailand? BKK or provinces?

Thanks for any info

I miss my clay & rough shoots sold all my guns in UK when I started coming to Thailand.

I looked into air rifles and the only ones you can buy legally are the gas BB pistols.

There are gun shops in most big towns but It seemed such a hassle trying to get a gun in Thailand, it can be done through you wife or partner.

The best bet is, go to army ranges, you can google it, there's one in Chiangmai where you can shoot a variety of weapons.

There are lots of pump-up air rifles available in the Chinatown alleys around Klong Tom market, but they appear to be for soft BB's.

If you do find a nice pellet gun or high velocity BB gun, please post back. I'd love to find one myself.

Out in the boonies there are plenty of "homemade" air rifles available. They use bicycle pumps with 5/16" steel ball bearings. Reasonably accurate upto about 20m even without rifled barrels, but ideal for keeping vermin & stray dogs at bay - not to mention for getting free-range chickens ready for the pot! And can even be used to shoot small harpoons for fishing.

PM me direct for more info as they're not strictly legal (although my local manufacturer is the local bobby).
