I just got back from thailand and have absolutely fell in love with bangkok, i love everything about it.

I enquired abou what sort of work was available for westerners in bangkok, and all people came up with for me was either something along the lines of soi cowboy or teaching and since i dont really fancy the whole Patpong girl thing, i was wondering if anybody could advise me on teaching english in bangkok?

I have looked at a few websites and they said experience isnt always needed, any help advice on this topc would be much appreciated!!!

Taught English for a year in LOS.

Was in BKK firstly but got sick & tired of the traffic. I love BKK too but you really should do some research into schools as there are many fly by nite joints out there.

Try ajarn.com

They have a great job listings page & offer advice to first timers like yourself.

I would suggest getting a CELTA qualification though schools do hire native english speakers without any qualifications at all - i just don't think this is fair on thai people expecting a fully qualified teacher to teach them! Also, the advantage of getting the relevant qualifications is that;

You are legally entitled to work in LOS

You pay your taxes & contribute to society

You avoid arduous visa runs

You have a contract & certain ( limited albeit) rights

You are able to conduct effective lessons and actually teach your students something !

PM me if you want any more info.

I do not think you will find Russians working on Soi Cowboy

Try streetwalking in Soi 3 and sometimes daring to venture to Suk but the MiB do not like that.

They also freelance in CM2 and I have heard some work in a certain Ratchada MP.

In Pattaya there are some working at Galaxy as Pole Dancers with extra's - obviously without WP's!

Nothing around like the Tokyo Hostess Bar's that I have heard about though.
