but she turns around and alerts the wrong people to a possible cash cow running loose, she may well have caused a real kidnapping to take place, not a pissed off 20 something on a joy ride. And THAT could cause demands that can not be met in reality.

Epilepsy is a brain dysfunction, but not a mental illness, as in a brain that doesn't process.

As noted by the poster above, this is wildly insensitive reporting. TIT, par for the course.

Epileptics when properly medicated can safely drive, and do most all normal functions, except in the very worst of cases. The medicine is available in most all pharmacies.

I somehow doubt the kid only had 200 baht,

he may will have grabbed a stack as he left and no one noticed.

He also may well have been pissed off watching Dad with a girl

more suitable to be his than dads squeeze.

If they are serious about finding this kid they need to hire a PI and start checking the relative's houses of the future step mother. If Thais are consistent as they have been in the past, a PI can find him in a day or two. The magic word in the article is "reward".

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I myself find dark skinned women very attractive, I find light skinned women very attractive. I find women of any color attractive. A beautiful women is beautiful no matter the color. I'm white from mostly Euro extraction yet my wife has lighter skin than me and she's from Chiang Mai. I don't judge beauty or a person by the color of their skin.

This future mother in law seems to be attractive and intelligent, capable of running multiple businesses. She's probably witty and quick of wits, yet she is found lacking by the color of her skin. I thought we grew past that attitude in the West, I see I am wrong.

Exactly. I am purely speculating now, but here is what I think;

Father and son Thompson from rural England have a holiday on Samui

They rent a motorbike from 'future mom in law'

Dad falls in love and makes all kind of promises

Dad returns to his farm in the UK

Son stays behind and keeps the motorbike

Son disappears with motorbike

'Future mom in law' gets suspicious and wants her motorbike back

She goes to police, but they won't help her

She makes up this great story to get a lot of attention from the media. (Combining billionair boyfriend, cash reward and the need for medicin will certainly get some wheels spinning)

She shows the son's passport (which was left as collateral for the motorbike rent)

Result;

Son is tracked down, Mom gets her motorbike back. Unknown 'lucky' guy gets his 1000 thb cash reward.

This may sound wrong in all accounts, but won't be surprise if girlfriend is in cahoots with the police there!

There is seriously something wrong with this story. A UK billionaire? Not many of them around, even less with the name Thompson A google search of the name and Ballymena will come up with an interesting article from a couple of years ago about a guy of the same age and a missing bike and some illegal substances.

Sounds to me that the missing bike is the major interest here.

Maybe I am wrong. But "billionaire son in need of help .... reward ... etc" well, what kind of attention is that going to attract?

A BALLYMENA man has appeared in court on drugs and motoring offences.

Marcus Robert Thompson (20), of Larne Road, is accused of taking a vehicle without authority, no insurance and no driving licence on April 15.

He is further accused on April 16 of possessing cocaine and cultivating a cannabis plant.

Thompson’s case was adjourned until September 10, when he appeared at Ballymena Magistrates Court.

Interesting - so a Marcus same full name, same age from same suburb of birth stole a motorcycle (as reported in the local paper - it would have been big news if he was a "somebody's"son and also mentioned in the article.

Now a lady who owns a car(motor bike??????) hire business- who take your passport when you hire one is reporting a reward from her "fiancé" who is a billionaire, yet she doesn't have an expensive engagement ring and the Dad hasn't come forward to say anything and there isn't anything in the English or other press about it and he isnt known. Is she trying to get her bike back?

It does not say that the epilepsy is the disorder, it says he risks epileptic attacks if not taking his medicine. So the epileptics are a result of his brain disorder. Epilepsy is a symtom, not a cause.
