Proxy Server Problem With Ipad Skype

Featured Replies

at work all our internet goes via the company proxy server which i use a user name and password to access and from there into the WWW...

this is fine for most situations however i have discovered that the ipad skype app does not have the functionality to configure it to use this (the full version i use on macbook and pc does).

a friend has suggested that VPN might be the way round this or that there may be some other way - anyone got any idea?

all advice gratefully received... :)

Any reason why you can't simply route all your traffic through the proxy using the iPad settings?

i already connect to the wifi at work and have entered my login details to the proxy and this is sufficient for some apps - safari works, opera browser doesn't for example.

on the macbook/pc version of skype you have to configure proxy settings in the connection part of skype's set up and the ipad/android versions do not have this functionality.

when i log in it appears to login but then shows my status as "connecting" forever and i cannot see who is online - it appears to reach the wifi then cannot get out to the server and connect properly.
