Bot of them coming up with E16-4 messages.

Using the "secret" password (2321), logged in to both boxes, signal quality and strenght 95-100%

Called True and they will send a tech on monday ( 4 days from now )

Service person said, that since I had near 100% perfect reception, the fault must be with the boxes.

Said she tried rebooting the signal, but still nothing.

I also assumed the fault was with the boxes.

Especially since I received a call like 3 months ago, with a very urgently speaking Thai person, dam_n near ordering me to be at home in 15 minutes, as they NEEDED to change my boxes to a newer model.

Well he never showed up.

So I guess time is up for the old boxes then ?

Maybe they flicked a switch somewhere and these boxes are now obsolete ?

The Humax IR-H101S is DVB/MPEG-2 decoder only as far as I know.

Any one else having similar experience ?

An error message of "E-16" means your subscription has expired. Ring them and sort it out.

My message is as follows:

"E16-4 Service is currently scrambled"

I went to the Truevisions office and was informed that I need a new box, i.e. it's not an expired subscription. When I asked why they did not inform me (and others) before any coding change, they said "We tried to call you". A big fat lie! Finally they showed me a mobile phone number they said they had called. It was not my number, nor my ex-wife's (who left Thailand three years ago), nor my house keeper's. They probably just invented a number right then and there.

Anyone interested can read today's "Post box" in the newspaper that we are not allowed to quote.

As said error message said E16-4. ( and if you think its because the subscription has run out, think again )

Not just E16.

They just changed the boxes today as promised.

Yes, they have in fact turned off the old DVB Mpeg-2 signal, thus making the old boxes useless.

The technician confirmed the new boxes are of the Mpeg-4 standard.
