Seeking Speakers Of English In Nikhom Kham Soi Area

Featured Replies

Just 2 months since my wife Nalinnipa arrived to settle here from New Zealand on our small farmlet,7.5kms north of Nikhom Kham Soi on highway 212.We beleive there are some folks in the areas north and south of here but have not met anyone yet,for a chat in English,.It sure is not easy for me in Thai.

So if you are out there, and would care for a coffee or whatever, please call in.Our house number is 160 Highway 212,just past the water tower on the right, you may notice our flag, and sign stating KIWI HERE

We have a lot to learn about our neighbourhood, and looking foreward to developing some mutual friendships. Have a nice day Vince

Do you sell cheap KIWIS there? biggrin.png

Vince,

There are quite a few english speaking people in Leong Nok Tha. A friend used to live up that way and we went to a party there once. Met quite a few poms there. Maybe go for a wander around there. Not sure where they might congregate though.

Maybe 2 years ago I stopped off at the Nikhom night market on the way back from Yaso. At a convenience store on the corner of the main shopping street which goes north from the 212, was a group of around 6 foreigners so I had a quick chat. I remember there were a few Nationalities there; one Jim from the UK, an Italian guy who had a business/restaurant in the area and a Scandanavian. Don't know if they still meet there for a beer and a chat in the early evening, but it may be worth checking out.....

Drive into Muk on a saturday night and go to the cowboy bar expats go there, farang music ,food and atmosphere

spotted the flag yesterday on a bike ride from Muk - Nikom - Nong Sung - Kumcha ee

THANKS GUYS,That gives me a few clues to follow.

Regarding cheap Kiwis, the answer is not yet if you mean the fruit.I reckon we could grow some but finding plants would be a problem.Any one seen any growing anywhere

AND SEZZO, seem to remamber emailing you about 3 years back, get me at [email protected]

Look foreward to meeting some of you soon Cheers Vince

you had more luck than I did a few years back when I posted about having a few beers there and staying overnight to break up the trip back to Nakhon Phanom -- I never got one reply. Maybe because nowadays there are more foreigners settling in this little corner of Isaan.
