Thailand’s PTTEP expects to sign a petroleum-sharing contract with the Burmese government early next month, according to a report by The Bangkok Post. Officials at the company said a deal could soon be reached to conduct oil and natural gas exploration in two onshore petroleum concession blocks. “We’re just waiting for the confirmation date for the G and EP2 Blocks from the Myanmar government,†said PTTEP Chief Executive Officer Tevin Vongvanich, adding that a tentative date has already been set. The company was awarded concessions in two other petroleum blocks in January.
