Hi Cat,

thanks for that info, Is Thursday the only day this service is available? I hadn't heard of it before. Not too sure what you mean about being too far gone ??

Will, I think , ( but not 100% sure ) that the comment you mention came from a Thai person a VFS not an Aussie from Diac. But I am aware that it is not a given the TV will be granted.

WE are just hoping to avoid spending around 8 months apart.

It seems as it's on Thursdays only.

This is taken from the Australian Embassy website:

"New Service

Any applicant wishing to personally speak with an Immigration Officer about their Family migration visa application may do so by visiting the Visa Application Centre between 14:00 and 16:00 hrs each working Thursday of the week. Staff from the Visa and Immigration Office of the Australian Embassy Bangkok will be available to address queries and meet with applicants wishing to lodge migration visa application at the Australian Visa Application Centre. Enquiries regarding non-Family visa applications should be directed to the general phone enquiry line or the email box."

As for your second point, I doubt anyone from VFS would call with that information as they're basically a courier service.

In all likelihood, it was your case officer from DIAC.

All the best.

Regards

Will

Hi Catwho,

Did you need to make an appointment to see the lady from the embassy at VFS? or just turn up.?

2 hours doesnt seem much time if there are a few people to see. we will be in Bangkok on Thursday the 28th so will go and see them.

Any progress on your application?

Hi All,

Just a further question about the certification of my Fiancees personnal documents. She had them translated and certified by a company in Udon Thani and I think they are correct from my interpretation of the immi handbook and guidlines.

They are stamped in red, the LHS has a round seal with SECRETARIATE SERVICES AGENCY on the top , a coat of arms in the middle and something written in Thai on the bottom. The RHS has a line of Thai followed by, Certifie3d Correct Translation, I hereby certify as requested that this is a true copy ( transcript ) of the original document presented to me, SECRETARIATE SERVICES AGENCY. It then has two signatures followed by DR Chuck Srisarannon 081-5927202.

All except the signatures are a red stamp.

This is the same as I have seen in another application. however someone mentioned the papers need to be stamped by Thai Govt in Babgkok. I can find no mention of this anywhere and in fact the handbook says the thai documents could be done in Australia.

Over to all you experienced people. Are the documents certified correctly for the visa application.

we are submitting next week in bangko9k so want to get it right first time.

Thank you

,

To keep it as simple as possible, any documents brought from oz the copys of the originals should have been certified by JP,or someone on the list.from oz,if not done in oz,you then will have to find a JP here,or an ozzy from the list.[its like finding a hens tooth].

otherwise it will cost u to have them certified at embassy.

some copys of originals not sign or certified will be stamped when you put in the application,as long as they see the originals,so take all originals.

the translated thai to english done in thailand, will have a stamp on the bottom of the translation with the agency's address and phone.

that is all, u need.

Hi All,

Just an update on where we are at. WE submitted all the paperwork on June 28th, Spent around 30 mins with VFS officer and everything was in order especially the translations and certifications. So thank you everyone who helped with their comments.

I had prepared everything in a zippered binder with contents and sleeves for every group of papers, thinking it was a professional presentation. I was very surprised when the VFS lady took it all out and used a heap of paper and bulldog clips to secure the papers. when I asked why I was told the embassy only accepts paper, no plastic folders, Go figure, I thought my way had less chance of anything getting lost !!

We received a confirmation email on July 3 giving us the letter for the medical and the case officers name and contact details. She said she would be back in contact around 12 weeks , So now its off to the hospital.

We were advised to submitt the 3 month tourist visa application at the same time and we had the passport back on July 2 with the visa approved .

So we are both very happy

Once again we are very gratefull for the wealth of knowledge and experiance on this forum

Cheers
