Englander
Theyve too many average players and only a couple of decent ones but thats what happens when youve little money and a cheque book manager!
rixalex
Well Sunderland are a good team and they have some pretty handy players - especially liked the look of their new record 13m signing - but really and truly, to be the top team in the league they are a team that should be beat. We didn't come close and if we're being honest, they deserved the 3 points much more than we did. Guess we can take some comfort from keeping a clean sheet. Not much though. Another plus of sorts was Anderson. Thought he did very well for his first proper game back. Vidic looks back to his best. Nani has to stop with the theatrics. Stop acting and play football man. Fingers crossed for a draw or dare i say it (nobody tell Migsy), an Arsenal win tonight!

Fergie was pissed off with his doctor saying he was ready to start today,in his interview he stated i have been picking the team for a long time now. Also it was origanally the plan for his comeback to be in the carling cup wolves game i think that will be when we see him back.

rixalex
I didn't realise Van Doh Sar had signed for West Brom That was shocking. Do not know what to say 1st half well in control,2nd half hit the self destruct button. In the end wba deservered there point. The commentator described it as a great comeback. I'm not sure a deflected own goal and a goal-keeper shocker really constitutes fighting back. More like accepting a gift. What i will say is we got what we deserved. We had 35 minutes to reply to their equaliser and did very little. Not even a last 5 minutes all out siege on their goal. I know that a free kick led to our first goal, but i still really think we are missing a dead ball specialist. In the second half we had some really well paced ones, and barely threatened. Frightening to think what sort of a lead we would now be enjoying had we not capitulated in so many games that we should have had in the bag. Lucky we are only five off the top. Englander
Rooney will not sign new deal. Manchester United have been informed that Wayne Rooney will not sign a new contract with the club, according to reports from the Press Association. The 24-year-old striker's current deal runs out in the summer of 2012 and it is understood negotiations over a new contract have broken down. There has been speculation that Rooney will be sold in the January transfer window, with Real Madrid interested. However, United's response was to label that claim as "nonsense". More to follow. http://news.bbc.co.u...td/9101905.stm? Edited October 18, 2010 by Englander
rixalex
Definitely been something in the air between the manager, the club and Rooney over the last few weeks. The business about Rooney coming out and contradicting the manager in terms of his recent fitness, and the manager's subsequent reaction, highlighted this tension. Rooney has been a daft twunt off the pitch and his on the pitch form has been poor. It's a time for him to keep his head down, follow the manager's instructions implicitly, and with luck get his career back on track. It's not a time to be getting into battles with the manager and to be courting interest of other clubs. If he starts with that nonsense, SAF won't hesitate to show him the door. Hope it doesn't come to that.
Englander
It's not a time to be getting into battles with the manager and to be courting interest of other clubs. With 18 months and 2 viable transfer windows left until his contract runs out, now is exactly the time to be playing up, Rooneys isnt renowned for his loyalty as leaving Everton so early in his career showed. [/quote If he wants to go let him, when he came on he looked like he wasn't interested and the fastest he ran was at the end of the game down the tunnel' He has been petulant and sulking lately and he deserved to be benched his form has been average. Rooney is a great player when on form, but like the likes of beckham stam van nistlroy and keane, they have all crossed paths with fergie and ended up out of the club. Not saying all thos leaving was a good thing as they where all still excellent players when they left even keano at 34. Be sad to see him leave or forced out to pay our debt, but he has asked for 150,000 a week, from his current 90,000 a week can we afford that much extra, don't think so. rixalex
Be sad to see him leave or forced out to pay our debt, Agree with everything you say Nev, but all i will say is if he is forced out to pay debt, now would not be a good time. Out of form and possibly wanting to leave equals a much reduced value on his head - possibly 50% of his real worth. Not good business in my opinion,

I agree with what you wrote, but if he had 2 or 3 years on his contract thats a good time to sell and its in Man Us favour, with 18 months and cuptied for the Champs League id imagine youd get half of his true value which will now be somewhere near 25-30 million id imagine, and he'll get the a bumper signing on fee and pay packet due to this saving. Ive never seen a player go from being arguably the best in the world as he was playing out of his skin before his fairly minor injury at Bayern to utter shyt so quickly. rixalex
Ive never seen a player go from being arguably the best in the world as he was playing out of his skin before his fairly minor injury at Bayern to utter shyt so quickly. In many of his recent off form games, whilst providing little in the department of attacking intent and end product, he has nonetheless worked hard and put himself about. He hasn't stopped tracking back and he hasn't stopped making opportunities for other players. Off form "yes". Utter shyt "no". Not having that. I do however reserve the right to come back and review that opinion should he ever sign for Citeh.
nev
Rooney with his agent stretford yesterday playing golf, this guy is the one trying to make the move happen, maybe because he will get a big fat pay cheque at the end. Rooney been offered 150.000 a week but wants more over 200.000 a week and has told other players he will go to city if has to,to get this.
