sharecropper
Ive never seen a player go from being arguably the best in the world as he was playing out of his skin before his fairly minor injury at Bayern to utter shyt so quickly. Fernando Torres? Although point taken. A poor bit of business by Man Utd, and as a neutral (ie neither City nor United) I'd laugh my head off to see him join City, but would worry for United after he went. He has been really crap of late, so Man U may be glad to see the back of his petulant off-form presence. Who would United buy to replace him, or not bother? I bet Hicks is kicking himself having not sold Torres and Gerrard when he had the chance.... To answer your question just talk up the 'great young players' at the club. The rot will take hold properly at Utd in the next couple of years only Ferguson is holding it together now.....but for how much longer?

The rots been in place since the Glazers arrvied but wasnt totally noticed until Ronaldo went, and Ferguson the champagne socialist backed them from day 1 so he could get a nice kick back no doubt. Good article in the Mail, think he hits the nail on the head by pointing out the obvious that Fergies future team was to be built around the irreplaceable Ronaldo and Rooney. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1321680/Martin-Samuel-The-fall-Sir-Alex-Fergusons-empire.html
MSingh
Rooney with his agent stretford yesterday playing golf, this guy is the one trying to make the move happen, maybe because he will get a big fat pay cheque at the end. Rooney been offered 150.000 a week but wants more over 200.000 a week and has told other players he will go to city if has to,to get this. Of course Nev.. This is the Guy who helped the Boy leave his beloved Everton after all, the Club that Rooney loves, that Rooney is, no matter what anyone says.. So he obviously has a VERY big influence, helped by the fact that Rooney can demand LOTS of money because he's good enough too.. The Fella also represents the talentless bint of a Wife that i sometimes see ( Why, i haven't a clue ) when i pick up the NOTW or The Sun before wiping my arse with it when i've ran out of Bog Roll.. http://www.thisislon...legal-battle.do Edit : PS : There's no " maybe's " about it, in what you wrote.. Englander
Rodney puts in transfer request. Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Wayne Rooney wants to quit Manchester United. The Old Trafford boss admitted he was "shocked" and "disappointed" to hear the news but said he had not fallen out with the England international, 24. "We are as bemused as anyone can be, we can't quite understand why he would want to leave," said Ferguson. Ferguson said the "door is still open" for Rooney, who will miss Wednesday's European game with Bursaspor after being stretchered off in training. The frontman suffered minor ankle damage and will sit out the Champions League tie at Old Trafford. continued http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/m/man_utd/9104392.stm? Englander
Who'll start the bidding? Leicester City were in Pattaya recently, most clubs would struggle to offer him a deal clincher such as that. Failing that id like to see him go back to Everton.
MSingh
From the BBC......... Meanwhile, Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has not ruled out a move for Rooney, admitting he will "talk to his chairman" about the possibility of signing him. "If he's going to stay in England, who knows"? he admitted. "You've got to be interested when the very, very best players become available but it would be a big ask. dave111223
I don't think it's bad idea to sell Rooney, but i do think it's bad timing to sell him right now! We should have sold him at the end of last season when people were throwing around silly numbers (80-90Million etc..) transfer fees. Right now we'd be lucky to get more than 35Mil with the terrible form (on and off the pitch) that he's been in. To think that we bought him for £25.6 when he was totally unproven, turned him into a football icon and then may barely even turn a profit on his transfer; makes me sick. At the end of the day i doubt he'll be playing top level football past the age of 27 or so (2 or 3 more years). He doesn't have a Giggs body type, he's more of a Gazza plus he's got the Gazza life-style...and we all know where Gazza ended up.

He had just been the outstanding player in the European Cup and had 2 very good years at Everton, Man U didnt turn him into a football icon his natural talent that you cant coach did. Youll have made a profit and have had what may turn out to be his best years. But you contradict yourself by saying he'll be finished in 2 years then complain about getting 35 million for him.
