Alfie Conn listens to and believes anybody who has the name Redknapp clap2.gif

I Cauker is above Jones for England why has he not been picked in the last few teams?

I do like Cauker but he needs to carry on his progression of joining better clubs.

Nobody gets picked on the basis of one good performance and to suggest he has joined a better club than Spurs..... tut tut.biggrin.png

Father Harry of course is letting all his frustrations out to anyone from the media who will listen.Unfortuantly now with QPR he is finding it hard to get an audience. He stops the car winds down the window but no one is there apart from gate keeper and he's heard it all before. Jamie must be immensley proud.

Back to Man United.Real Sociedad if i remember are on zero points but they are far better than that and its last chance saloon for them.

Team ,how could you pick it ?

De Gea

Smalling Ferdinand Jones Evra

Nani Fellaini Giggs Young

Rooney Hernandes

De Gea

Smalling Ferdinand Jones Buttner

Fellaini Cleverly

Janazuj Kagawa Nani/Young

Not a bad result away from home in Europe but we should of finished them off really, but i thought we were defensively very solid after our lapses lately.

If anyone gets access to Wigan games trust me that young Nick Powell, since his injury, is coming on leaps and bounds .Hit a screamer for the winner last weekend and has 4 goals in the Europa League ..Like all young guys growing he has bulked up a bit but lost none of his pace.Right now Moyes must be tempted to bring him back at Christmas and try and offload Anderson and Nani.

Sadly I watched last weekend Paul Pogba continue his rise with Juventus....the one that got away....... and blame lies at the door of SAF.Left on a free and would now command 25-30,000 quid for a transfer. Plays like a younger version of Patrick Viera. Anyone who watched him last season could have seen what he had, what were the coaches and SAF thinking not bringing him through last year. The missing link and afar better player now than Fellaini

SAF was in no way to blame for the loss of Paul Pogba-Pogba,s agent was solely responsible,he manipulated this move and sadly the greed of Paul himself,if you only knew the full facts?
Funny that!! Pogba is on record as saying the reasons he left United were Ferguson, and the fact he wasnt picked and was not getting game time. Nothing to do with money. Fergie cocked up big time with him.
Believe what YOU want-my reply was based on FACT

I see Young is in the head lines for all the wrong reasons, again.

As a Man U supporter I am embarrassed once again by Young's antics.

He's had more than enough chances to stop the diving.

If I had my way he wouldn't play for the club again.

I was watching on the laptop so didn't get a very clear view of the contact, but from what i did see, there was a definite tug on his sleeve. The ref was right on top of it, and he called it, so that surely says something. Perhaps Young exploited the contact, or to put it another way, went down easy, but what is a defender doing tugging on someone's shirt in the box? Pretty stupid i'd say. Wouldn't you? If you going to tug on someone's shirt, don't think that if you do it lightly enough, the opposition player will stay on his feet. He won't. The player who tugged on Young's shirt wouldn't have either. Anyway, enough tugging...

Young actually had a good game when he came on. Him and RVP really opened up things, and had us creating some clear cut opportunities, even if those opportunities weren't taken advantage of.

I too have been very critical of him, particularly this season, with the diving and the general drop in form, but that game showed he still has something about him. Let's at least get rid of that prick Nani and that tub of lard Anderson first, before we think about Young.

Why do commentators continue to call him Hernandez, when he likes and has always had the name Chicharito on his shirt?

Probably because Chicarito is a nickname you'd expect for a ten year old, not an adult. <deleted>..little pea!!! Lad needs a belt round the head and told to man upbiggrin.png

I was watching ITV using UKTV on a large screen TV so the picture quality was good.

Although the ref was only 2-3 yards away his view appears to be blocked by the Sociedad defender so doesn't have a clear view of what contact there was, if any. Even with video replays and still pictures it's hard to say whether there was any meaningful contact but, if there was, it was contact with Young's upper arm as the first picture shows. Young would have to throw his own arm back to get it in the position it was in the second picture. Contact with the upper arm wouldn't cause it.

Also physical contact itself does not mean it's a foul and does not mean a player has the right to throw himself to the ground.

I too have been very critical of him, particularly this season, with the diving and the general drop in form, but that game showed he still has something about him. Let's at least get rid of that prick Nani and that tub of lard Anderson first, before we think about Young.
Moyes said last season: ‘I’m of the view that retrospective viewing of diving should be more important than some of the technology they are talking about bringing in. It would make the referee’s job an awful lot easier if that was there

Young has been warned before by both SAF and Moyes but is still a cheat and, personally, I don't want to see cheats playing for Man U. I'm happy to give players second, even third chances but Young has gone way beyond that.

Moyes should also be reminded of his quote and advised that he doesn't have to wait for the FA to view video retrospectively, he can do that and dish out the punishment himself.

Agree with you totally about Nani though. I hope Man U only renewed his contract in an attempt to keep his resale value up and not because Moyes rates him.

Are you suggesting PELÉ was acting like a ten year old for using that name then? whistling.gifwai2.gif

No, but then again i'd never compare a player that sits on Uniteds bench with Pele.

Also physical contact itself does not mean it's a foul and does not mean a player has the right to throw himself to the ground.

The shot i saw of it, it seemed like it wasn't two arms colliding, but rather the defender raising his hand to Young's arm, and then momentarily pinching hold of his sleeve. The shot you attached confirms that the defender's arm was stretched out with his hand at Young's sleeve, but there isn't enough detail to see if the hand had a hold of the sleeve. Of course if he did pinch at Young's sleeve, it would explain why Young's arm was as you describe "thrown back".

So the jury is out for me. Not conclusive one way or the other. On the negative side, Young does have history with this. One the positive side, the ref might not have had a clear view of everything, but he was extremely close, and he made the decision that it was a penalty.

I'm not keen on these nicknames either, and don't really understand why some players get to use them on their shirts. Didn't think it was really allowed.

Aguero though has a good one, but i just can't understand why the final "t" always seems to be missing.

You guys are insane if you can justify that as a penalty, absolutely mental! No contact, he didn't grab his arm he may have reached out to, but Young didn't give him a chance. As soon as he felt a touch on his arm he proceeded to dive and a crap obvious dive at that. Take a look at the video on diving scum thread from the behind the goal angle, it is a clear as day! Christ on a bike!

^That's true dat ,plus he wasn't in control of the ball as he'd lost it & went looking for a dive ,it's just a shame he forgot his trunks!!!

The telegraph have a good montage of his diving efforts .He gets a 1 from me!

I wasn't comparing the quality of the player. What level do of player do you have to be to justify using a nickname then?

If you look at it from the angle of behind the goal, all you'll see is an arm and a hand colliding, you won't see whether the hand grabs at Young's sleeve, because it will be obscured.

As i have said before, i'm not 100% certain either way, but the ref called it, and he was right on top of it. And incidentally, the commentators for the match both agreed it was a clear penalty and that the defender was an idiot for doing what he did right in front of the ref.

Good post rixalex, to many defenders try to stop the player by grabbing the player and as soon as the player starts to go down holds his hands up as to say not touch him ref, not defending Young one bit, he should stop his acting and trying to get a cheap penalty or he should let to leave, i no like to see any player cheat, but on this occasion think there was just enough contact for a penalty to be given.
