yeah...I saw that on the BBC internet...the Platters were tops...R.I.P. and their memory lives; I was in college in Oakland, CA in the 70s and in the hallways where there were good acoustics with echoing and etc there would always be some brothers harmonizing and it sure was great...

and then there is 'The Great Pretender'...a monument of doo wop and rythm and blues...

The Platters were 'crossover artists' before Motown came along and here's me dad in the late 50s, a typical southern boy redneck and he said: 'I don't like that nigger music...'...but when The Platters came on the radio he was singin' along very pleasantly...
