Airline Ticket Purchase

Featured Replies

Where's the best place to purchase an ailine ticket, went to Westin Tour's seams very expensive, anywhere else in Hua Hin or is it best to buy in BKK??

Unfortunately, for some reason unknown to me, an airline ticket purchased from within the U.S. (for example) is at least 30% cheaper than purchasing it here in the opposite direction even using the same airline and flights in reverse. Someone explained it to me that Thailand wants tourists to come here so the tickets are cheaper when bought in another country. I don't know if that's true but I do know that me or a member of my family was traveling to Thailand about twice a year until we moved here and we never paid over 1200 dollars for a round trip ticket; usually we got them for around $800. We've traveled from here a couple of times and the cheapest ticket we've been able to buy was over $1500 several years ago and now it is closer to $2000 for coach class... and yes that is through Western Travel who I agree can find the best deals from this end.

I have found it much cheaper to to buy from the bucket shops in and around the Khao San Road in Bangkok. They are not quick with emails but can phone and pay by card
