Which Is Cheapest Phone Call Option 1 - 2 - 3 Tot / Mobile

Featured Replies

Ive done a quick search , but still need to ask . I have a TOT land line phone which Ive very rarely ever used , so I'm not too sure about the cost of calls within Thailand . I live in a poor mobile phone signal area , and even with a signal booster unit in my house , and trying all the different Thai mobile phone carriers , the results are still the same , with erratic dropped calls .

I was thinking about using trying out my TOT land line phone / mobile phone combination , and wondered what costs may be involved with -

1. My TOT land line phone to call a Thai mobile phone

2. My Mobile phone ( Dtac ) to call a TOT land line phone

3 My TOT land line phone to call another TOT land line phone

Some of the people who I want to call do not have access to Skype.

I have not yet tried any of the above combinations , until I find out what I may be charged . I know there are certain pre paid discount cards you can buy that give you better rates for phone calls made to other countries from within Thailand , could there all so be some sort of discount cards available for the 1-2-3 options above.

Ive tried on several occasions to talk to some one at TOT , about the costs involved , but it seems I accidentally got put through to the TOT customer service office on Mars rolleyes.gif

Any Ideas Please wai.gif

I can't guarantee you the same rates apply, but here's what my TOT phone bill says (I live in Udon):

- calling AIS numbers, 3 baht per minute

- calling DTAC numbers, 3-8 baht per minute

- True numbers, 3 baht per minute

- calling any TOT number within a 50km range, 3 baht no matter how long

If you predial 1-2-3-4 when calling mobile or long distance (in country) numbers, you'll receive a substantial discount. One of my recent TOT bills, for example, had about 600 baht worth of either long distance or calls from our TOT phone to mobile phones. As we predial 1234 when calling these numbers, the charges were only 189 baht.

I'd love to get a full listing of how TOT charges for phone calls, but so far, have not been successful.

My average bill, including 590 baht for ADSL, comes to about 1000 baht per month. I keep a mobile with me when I'm out and about only for emergencies. I top it up every few months with 200 baht from 1-2 call.

Works for me.

Not sure why anyone would pay such extortionate tariffs, even via Y-tel 1234? With my DTAC/Happy SIM I pay 99 satang per minute, all calls, all networks, 7x24. There are similar/better deals out there.

For the OP, calls from DTAC to a TOT line will vary depending on SIM/promotion/plan. You should be able to check your current plan/promotion via eServices.

Both DTAC and AIS will be required to charge a maximum of 1 baht/min for any/all calls as of 12/31/2012 per NTBC edict. True are exempt as they are not a 'primary' provider, i.e. they are useless.
