Dan Sai, Phi Ta Khon, ghost/ mask festival 22-23 June, 2012

A group of us headed down from Chiang Mai to the Dan Sai, Loei, Phi Ta Khon, ghost/ mask festival last weekend, it's one of the most colorful festivals in Thailand, well worth a visit.

My wifes Mother goes every year, I hope my holidays fall around this time 1 year so that I can attend. My family say a great festival

Robbo - it might be the best in Thailand for colorful, unusual, costumes, well worth making the effort. If you go, book accommodation well in advance, the place gets booked up pretty fast.

It's "roughly" the same time every year, i've been told one of the senior Monks in the town of Dan Sai (Loei) picks the date, but can't confirm that.
