Hyatt Fitness -- Group Discount -- Two People Needed

Recommended Posts

I'm joining the gym at the Hyatt Erawan this weekend. It's 45K for one person or 39K each per year for three persons. Nicest spa-like gym in town. Send me a PM if interested in joining me for a group membership. Our only group obligation is meeting there once and paying together.

Have you talked to other members? When we were members there, it wasn’t too hard to join an existing group. Of course that was a few years ago. Anyway good luck and hope you get on with the people there, we still keep in touch with a few of them on Facebook and the like.smile.png

Do they have pilates classes or pilates reformers? I looked on their web page and they don't give much information other than hours, about pools, sauna, jacuzzi and costs for using an instructor.

i used to be a member here but gave it up because it just got too crowded at the times i wanted to use it; ie early eve 5/6pm, also, a guest of mine had his wallet stolen from his (locked) locker.

In many respects it is a great gym but they have a deal with amex (i think) whereby card holders of a certain level get to use the gym for free so at certain times it can get v. busy and the mens changing area is not that big. That rather spoils it for me and i think (FWIW) there are better (and less busy) gyms in the area.

Where do you think is better in this area? The gym chains are all much worse, mostly because of the music for me, and the Four Seasons is much more expensive. I haven't seen any other better options, but I would be happy to be wrong!

The gym near our house "collects" names to help people get these discounts. Just leave your name with them and they will contact you when they have found others. A bit of a tip might be in order also?whistling.gif

Agree on the chains (horrible places) IMO, the gym at the Intercon is better (maybe the best hotel gym in BKK) and the changing area much better but the pool area not as nice plus no tennis if that is important. The gym at JW Marriott is v. good and last time i checked they were offering very good deals on membership. The Sheraton is also worth a look . My own preference is the 4 seasons , but as you say, it is expensive and they have a waiting list. Its really a matter of whats important to you, i liked the Hyatt and was a member for a couple of years there but in the end i just got p---d off with how crowded it got after they started the free membership for Amex Platinum holders. On the other hand if you dont need to go at peak times then maybe its fine. Or get yourself an Amex card and you dont need to pay anything! Edited by wordchild

If you just want cardio and weights Fitness First has the best and latest machines, no pool. If you want all the extras pool, sauna, ect JW Marriot is also very good.

The Marriott is good. Just not convenient for me. It's been a few years since I looked at the Intercontinental. It was only mediocre back then. I'll check it out today. I like the Technogym equipment at the Hyatt and the relaxed vibe.

Well worth a look . Its brand new only reopened a couple of years ago equipment better/ newer than the Hyatt (also techno i think) quite a few long-term members from the Hyatt moved there when it opened. Its good if you just want the gym the pool is tiny however. Edited by wordchild

The group membership at the Hyatt worked out surprisingly quickly so I ended up just joining there. If anyone else wants in on the group discount feel free to PM me as I'm sure they would honor it for a few days. Actually it seemed a bit of a scam as they were quick to offer it with only two of us wanting to join. They said a third unspecified member was waiting for a new group. I'll check out the Intercontinental next year, so I don't regret my quick decision :)
