June 29, 201213 yr Anyone else had this problem? I try to book internationally in and out of Phuket internationally on Thai airways website, specifically through to Melbourne and Perth. Now I know the planes fly there as I have taken the flight myself (Booked by a third party). The flight goes Perth/Phuket then BKK (All the Passengers disembark and then those going on to BKK rejoin), on the way back (annoyingly) it goes Phuket/BKK then Perth. The Melbourne one is a similar route...when flying from Melb its great as its a direct flight...the other way is a 1 stop flight. When I go to select HKT on the Thai airways international it wont allow it. Any tips or hints?
June 30, 201213 yr Author Virgin Australia flies direct between Perth and Phuket, both ways. Yeah I use them when Im paying for holidays etc....but when the company is paying I use non budget as they are flexible with last minute date changes due to the nature of my work
June 30, 201213 yr Author You have to do your own bookings if the company is paying? That's rough. I choose to, as I get free travel insurance with my credit cards. Also if I want to stay an extra day there in Perth or wherever to do my tax or a bit of shopping, visit buddies or go to union meetings they cant piss and moan about it. I prefer it this way.
June 30, 201213 yr Author You have to do your own bookings if the company is paying? That's rough. Also from previous experience a lot of the office staff from various companies seem to think Phuket is in Indonesia or Malaysia, this way I am responsible for my tickets and I get to and from work the fastest possible way
June 30, 201213 yr Yes, very strange. For international flights all Thai departure points except for BKK have disappeared from their website.
June 30, 201213 yr Yes, very strange. For international flights all Thai departure points except for BKK have disappeared from their website. Not strange at all. Remember this is Toyland Thailand. The Crock is right I think. Just checked Skyscanner website, not totally user friendly site but good results if you persevere. About +/- 12,000 baht one way. Just booked 1 way Phuket - Gold Coast 03 Aug. Tiger / Scoot change @ Sing. 7,710 baht. inc. 25 kg baggage. So it's worth a look.
June 30, 201213 yr SQ/silkair also have booking problems similar to this, so best bet is ringing an agency and have them do it.
