I live south of the city and every morning I drive my daughter into the heart of the city to school. I usually find some long way home around town trying a new road. This morning I tried several all over town, west side, north side, east side, central, south, 100 km in total over 4 hours.

What I noticed was a pattern of 2 men on Honda CBR150's motorbikes Always wearing the same high quality full face helmets with reflective shields and matching clothes. Not once or twice but over a dozen times and in all areas.

The men seem to be in mid 20's and clearly are going here and there for some reason.

Anyone have any idea what it could be ?

Money collectors. Both for large financial companies as well as "private lenders".

One drives, one collects.

Sitting at a local shop and see them park, you'll see one stays with the bike and one goes in with his notebook to pick up the payments. You'll also notice them at the ADM/CDM machines during the day depositing the collections.

PS. uniform is black slacks, light beige jacket, large blacked-out helmet, and usually driving a CBR-150

They wave at my wife and I on our CBR-150 all the time up here in Mae Taeng. Guess the pink helmet doesn't look like a threat to their turf.

Money collectors as stated. They can be seen all over Thailand around 8:00-8:30 A.M. There is one large company in particular and their guys wear the black slacks and green jackets and of course the large black helmets..

in buak hard park every day .. trust me i know ! .. and thats just the park : (

Strange sight indeed. People wearing helmets on motorbikes in Thailand? Whatever next?
