ALL AGENCIES WILL BE ASKED TO HELP SET UP ANIMATION SOFTWARE CENTERS IN COMMUNITIES TO SUPPORT YOUTHS TO BECOME EXPERTS IN ANIMATION.

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinnawat asked all agencies to pay attention to setting up animation software centers in communities to support youths to become experts in animation, boosting their competitiveness in the global stage.

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinnawat presided over the Thailand Animation and Multimedia (TAM) 2006 at the Sirikit Convention Center. The premier said that Thailand has potential to be developed into the biggest animation center in Southeast Asia. He expressed belief that Thai youths could become animationists with knowledge and creativity. He said that the government will ask for cooperation from related agencies to put more importance on this issue, adding that the subject can be a part of curriculum.

In addition, he said that animation software centers should be located in various communities to provide spaces for youths to display their creativity. He said that children can socialize at the centers instead of hanging out in game shops.
