Thailand's national tourist board has launched its first ever mobile application for travellers, which is now available from the App Store and Google Play.

Features of the new offering include planning tools, a share function for Facebook and Twitter, itinerary ideas and Google Maps to help holidaymakers make their way around.

Users can learn more about holiday experiences in eight different categories, including 'adventure', which provides information about a range of exciting activities and pursuits.

There is also a 'chic' section covering shopping, nightlife, fashion and other related topics, as well as recommendations for couples, beach lovers and people interested in learning more about Thai culture and traditions. The app will be updated every month with new information about tourist products and services including hotels, restaurants and attractions.
