Hackers Grab 1 Million Logins From Android Forum

Phandroid has announced that a hacker has recently accessed its user database, making off with usernames, email addresses and hashed passwords—and the problem looks like it could affect all of its one million-plus users.

In a forum post announcing the problem, administrators explained that the hack was most likely an email harvesting scheme. While Phandroid users should watch their inboxes for spam, the forum also suggests that users should immediately change their passwords. [Phandroid via ZDNET]

Hopefully in the next few years the hopeless password system will be replaced with something far more secure. It will take brains heavier than mine to come up with what it will be.

Yup a mate of mine got hacked...and i received an email....looked dodgy so I binned it.

Next day he sent an apology. Its becoming more common this now unfortunately.

Thanks to thaivisa.com I was given the heads up about this! While I use Phandroid.com quite often, I had not been there in a few days. Thanks to this post I jumped over there and immediately changed my PW and username. I will definitely be keeping an eye on my email.

Sorry to see that happen as I find that website informative for all things Android.
