July 15, 201213 yr Due to some unfortunate events I am in the position of needing to negotiate with creditors in Farangland. As part of that process, I need to supply a list of assets that my wife owns and their value, including any real estate. The property in question is in Pathumthani. For this purpose, I need to know the estimated value the property would sell at if it were sold at auction. Since I am unfamiliar with the real estate market in Thailand, can anyone advise me on how to find an assessor who would know how to do this? Typically, assessors like to set the price to represent fair retail market value. That is not useful to me. What I need is someone who knows how to value something as if it were a distressed asset marked for quick sale, and can provide that opinion in writing. Can anyone suggest how I might go about acquiring this data? Thank you for any assistance.
July 18, 201213 yr Hi, There are a number of companies that specialise in providing property appraisals for banks, etc. A quick Google search for Thai Property Appraisal should generate some contacts. I believe there is also an association although they work almost exclusively in Thai so might not show up on an English language search. Good luck.
July 18, 201213 yr A company I know have used this company http://www.american-...th/company.html but for the purposes of valuing a building for purchase. They might be able to help you or Google using google.co.th and you may get some hits (but possibly in Thai).
July 18, 201213 yr creditors in which country? secured or unsecured loans? are you intending ever returning to said country. it makes a big difference. I really wouldn't divulge any assets held by my wife in Thailand to any creditors of mine, no matter what.
