[Myanmar] Three Un Workers In Arakan Reportedly Charged

Three UN workers detained in Burma’s resistive Arakan State face criminal charges of “stimulating†riots, diplomats told the London-based The Financial Times. Those charged were among 10 workers for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees arrested nearly a month ago amid sectarian violence between Buddhists and Muslims in the western Burmese state. At least 80 people were killed while tens of thousands of homes were burnt down in the strife. Neither the UN nor Burmese government have given any details of the charges nor why the group were detained.
