Aung San Suu Kyi is to be a guest on BBC Radio 4′s iconic Desert Island Discs program after expressing an interest in making an appearance during her recent Nobel Peace Prize acceptance speech, reports the BBC. The 67-year-old parliamentarian revealed that when she lived in Oxford, before becoming the champion of Burma’s pro-democracy movement, she would avidly listen to the show with her family. The opposition leader was finally given the chance to accept her 1991 Nobel Prize this past May in the Norwegian capital Oslo.
