Hello everyone please read my story below:

Ok, so I currently live in the United States and I'm part-Thai. I'm graduating from an American university next year and I want to find work in Thailand. However, I'm currently prescribed to Concerta XR 36 mg. I've done plenty of research and have find out that it is prescribed here in Thailand but it's considered by the Thai FDA to be a P2 drug. I'm not sure what that means. So here's my question, if I move to Thailand and go to a Bangkok Hospital psychiatrist and provide him with all the medical records saying that I have been taking the medication since 15 years of age (currently 21 now) would I be able to get a prescription? Please help, all of my family lives in Thailand and I really want to move back.

I do not believe there would be any problem getting medication if available in Thailand but be aware psychiatrist care is often not talked about by family and has a somewhat negative connotation here that is only slowly being changed. It may be a factor in finding work. Have you taken care of getting Thai passport/ID card? Also remember you will be subject to military service if not exempt.

It would be a normal hospital doctor visit fee - so depends on where/who you see. At expat popular private hospitals I would expect 300-1000 baht likely average and lower at some others. Most doctor visits here are as out patient rather than in a private doctor setting.
