Go Karting In Bkk

I did a search, nothing came up, so hopefully this is not already discussed elsewhere.

Recently at a go kart competition I noticed a number of farang competing, from youngsters to old timers even. One particular group seemed to be rather prefessional and sponsored by the pizza company and the Minor group.

I was wondering if there are any regular go kart enthusiasts in here.

I am not a petrol head, nor am I an over the top fan. But as a youngster I had one and really wanted to get into the racing, but never did. Now i have a son who loves it, still very young, but at some tracks they let me take him out with me for a spin and he is all smiles.

He wants to learn and we have enquired about it at 3 tracks here, 2 have said he is to small. The 3rd is a private owned track and by joining the membership, I would be able to get him a Kart, have it housed there and make use of the mechanics and the track almost whenever I wanted to. Thinking of this seriously and I might even buy one for meself.

I met a young Thai guy who offers himself out for instruction also and would be good for later on perhaps. But in the begining I can teach him myself slowly slowly. He has an electric 4wd at home that he mastered around the house at the age of 2. I would love him to start young, he is keen and teaching him slowly in a small Kart built for him and governed to speeds to suit his development would be great fun, possibly more for me than him, but I doubt it, he loves it and is very keen to try it all out.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone has experience with such things or just Karting around Bkk.

Also the private track is near my home, so is very convenient and is a what seems to be a good smooth well maintained facility.
