Here's an item description from a Chinese seller on Ebay. What's he selling? No cheating!

"MCX series (DELETED) not only comfortable holding, avoid collisions, but also can play antifreeze foam tube set adopts NBR materials.

Foot tube uses new developed lock stop structure and knobs; it can rapidly and effectively lock telescopic feet. Foot tube locks knob uses metal oxide. Not only increase the use of feeling, but also avoid skidding and aging of the knob , greatly improving the feet using life .

Lightweith rubber materials.

Light,flexible and easy to carry.

Suitable for outdoor sports and travel.

Adequate strength and stability guaranteed."

I thought Condom at first but the telescopic feet bit indicates it's not.

I'm interested in anything preventing aging of the knob though.

I first suspected he was desperately trying to describe a bicycle, but I had to know and cheated (yes, I was wrong)...

Not so much the aging as the skidding. Who wants a skidding knob? cheesy.gif

I'll bow to your greater knowledge in this field and just add it it to the ever growing list of things that I don't really want to know anymore about. cool.png

Sorry I didn't mean to mock my elders. Its just that I've never had knob problems especially not those that could be cured by lightweigh rubber materials whistling.gif

I thought it was something to do with an insert for shoes!

They must have used Google Translate

Initially, a penis enlarger.

It could, with a bit of imagination, have telescopic feet.

Most everything else would possibly fit..........

Now I go cheat.......LOL

This is so funny, not far off in my guess......... PMPLMAO !!!!!!

I was thinking skiis.

I hope endure is going to enlighten us?

GOOGLE it, simple.

I finally weakened and looked it up.

Google has spoiled a lot of what used to be tests of knowledge, there's very little now that honestly tests what we actually know rather than our ability to Google it.

^Yes, search engines such as Google are great. But of course, in general terms, the Internet is an information revolution. Aside from books of my 'trades', I always used to keep duplicate small librararies of general reference books at my home and workplace (OED2 at office, SOED at home, thes, gram, encyclo, atlas - that sort of stuff). Here in Phuket, I keep precisely zero hardcopy reference books.

Internet - the better mousetrap (© Ping, 8 Aug 2012!) :D

I have virtually all my fiction on eBooks now, I really only want hard copy reference books on my shelves.

They'rea lot easier to use than reference eBooks I think and good for just simple browsing.

Yeah, and ya can read them outside in the sun, al fresco.

You can read a Kindle out in the sun. The Kindle screen is just like paper - not like am Ipad/Android screen.

The screen on the Kindle is an absolute marvel, I'm a fairly well clued up techy nerd, and the first time I saw one my first thought was 'wow' my second was 'how the....'

I don't read in the sun anyway, eBooks to me are about convenience.

All those books in one little contraption.

The only thing they could do to improve the Kindle would be to make it waterproof so I could read it in the bath. It would avoid all those crinkly bottoms.

You'd still get a crinkly bottom whether you had a waterproof kindle or not.

The problem I have with them is eating and reading at the same time, gravy is really hard to get out of the buttons.

Doesn't really do much for the reading pleasure of a regular paperback either.

J' accuse .... e.

But a $5 paperback can be discarded after finishing, gravy stains and all.

A $200 Kindle or iRiver is a little bit more of a permanent fixture though.

I recall that when I was a member of my local library a book often informed you what the last three borrowers had had for dinner. ermm.gif

Both Kindle and paperbacks are candidates for "Ziplock bags".

Family bin using them for beach and the bath at home for years.

Had funny looks first time at our local pool hot spa.

Hey, it caught on....... lol

Mobile phones too, well I do.

I've seen this elsewhere but it seems that you can only buy them by the 1000 in the UK. I'm not sure if this is true in the remote outposts of the Empire rolleyes.giftongue.png
