Chan Tour Bus Tickets In Cr

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me whether Chan Tour bus company has an office in Chiang Rai to buy tickets?

Also, am I right in thinking Chiang Rai has 2 different bus stations, and if so what's the deal with them both? (I'll be arriving from Chiang Mai and leaving for Bangkok - hopefully with Chan Tour.)

Thanks for any help

Chan Tour does not operate a bus service to Chiang Rai and has no office in Chiang Rai.

From Chiang Mai the Green Bus Company provides an excellent service to all major northern towns.

The old and new bus stations in Chiang Mai are next to each other.

The old Chiang Rai bus station is in the centre of town; the new one is located next to the N1 highway about 5 km South from the centre of town. Some of the Green Bus services stop at both stations. Ask about this when you buy your ticket in Chiang Mai. At present the old bus station handles most of the public transport within Chiang Rai province, buses from the new station go out of the province. There is a 20 Baht shuttle bus service between the two bus stations in Chiang Rai.

Several large bus companies provide transport from Chiang Rai to Bangkok; they all travel via Phitsanulok. One company provides a daily bus (leaves 8.30 AM) that travels via Tak and Nakhon Sawan.
