Why Are There Condoms On My Hot Dogs ?

Featured Replies

Got a pack of mini hot dogs today at Tesco, not the cheep ones, heated them and bit in only to get a mouth full of plastic,

Why do hot dogs have condoms on them ? Never did back home.

peel and eat

Yes; really weird isn't it. I hate having to peel every sausage before heating it and just don't understand why they have to wrap them individually. Wifey doesn't know the answer but just says they've always been like it.

This is thailand, all types of sausages have to be covered cheesy.gif .

It's because they are too cheap to use skins.

Edit: or do they have them as well ?

Are they ribbed? I hear ribbed feel better, when you swallow.

Almost correct. In Thailand they use plastic because the skin is proccessed and sold seperately.

Keep in mind that those large sausages on the street bbq are also plastic covered, which isn't removed just melted into the meat.Aroy

That's alright as they don't look or smell good enough to risk a dodgy gut for.

Good question. I had no idea it was like that with the hot dogs ... but I can understand, as orange juice isn't complete without salt here.

If it looks likea youknowwhat it's better to be safe than sorry in LOS.

Well done to Tesco for pioneering the way in subliminal sex education in Thailand, "every little bit hurts"

Not plastic but cellulose (derived from cotton) or collagen.

CP sells small smoked sausages actually like a small frankfurter. They don't sell them in stores. Only sell them on the 3rd. of the month in booths. My wife buys them at the Rangsit market.Much better than a hot dog,no plastic and have casings. about 330bht for a 1kilo bag.
