Delivery Of Ford Wildtfak From Phuket Ford Dealer

Recommended Posts

We ordered a wildtrak from the local dealer in January and told by the salesman it would be delivered in April, i asked him if he was sure of this and he said yes

We have now been told we may receive delivery in September but they would not guarantee it

Has anyone taken delivery of a wildtrak from the local dealer, last month they were delivering some 3.2 litre 4x4s which were not available when we ordered ours

which is a 4 door 2WD with 2.2 litre engine

Each time we check with the ford dealer we get a different answer on when it will be delivered

Have you tried ringing around the dealers?

We started on the path to unknown delivery with our Mazda (White).

After a month of don't knows we just printed out the list of all dealers and started ringing.

After about 20 calls we found one from a cancelled order and bought it that day.

Might mean a road trip for you, but what better way to get to know your new car.

Cancel it and get the Mazda BT-50 think you can get that more or less straight away, IMO Mazda looks way better than anything out there!!

No, 2-3 months wait. Agree with you about the looks though.

I have been told if they have a cancelled order they offer the vehicle to people on the waiting list and there are plenty of them

Managed to contact someone at ford Thailand and they now say delivery will be in December after checking our position on the waiting list

A lot different than the July delivery the salesman promised

It's the ugliest thing I have ever seen and would be the last pick up I would buy.

I agree thats why the delivery time is a lot shorter, people prefer the ford and would rather wait

If you ordered white, you will wait. There is a worldwide shortage of TiO2 (titanium Dioxide) which is needed to make white paint. It has been in shortage for a few years, and the shortage will continue through 2013. This is also why white is more expensive.

Last year I waited well past the delivery time for a white D-Max, I finally settled for black, and had it within a week.

If you didn’t order white, I have just wasted a bunch of your time.smile.png

When we checked in the beginning of July the last 7 wildtraks delivered to Phuket were white 3.2litre 4x4s according to the salesman the 3.2 engine was not available when i placed the order and i did not want it anyway, we will only be using it as a passenger vehicle and for light loads, the 2.2 has plenty of power

We ordered silver, in a few years time there will be a majority of white vehicles on the road like Australia and not everyone likes or wants white

Have You given the Wildtrack a test drive?

I drove the ford ranger same engine and transmission, if we had wanted the ranger it would have been delivered a long time ago, a friend ordered theres in March and have had it for about 2 months

I could not get up in the morning especially with a hangover and look at the Mazda with its big mickey mouse grin for a grill

It's horses for courses where looks are concerned, I like all the pick-ups here just think the Mazda stands out from the crowd!! the Isuzu looks great, the Mitsubishi looks great, Wildtrack looks fantastic but Personaly would not wait a long long time for one.

The Isuzu is a nice looking pickup but it is old mechanically the Toyota is as well

The Triton has been updated mechanically but does not appeal to us

The Chev Colorado has a new engine and transmission and when we checked on delivery the salesman said 6 weeks, when i asked if he was sure of that his answer was no a lot had been put on order

We both prefer the wildtrak and now have been given a delivery date are prepared to wait the extra 4 months

Ford are not taking orders anymore for the widtrak and i think the ranger they have to many back orders

Odd why only in Asia when in North America it is easy to get and the same cost. I did not know that thanks for the info.

I saw a new white Wikdtrak on the road yesterday but not sure if it was 3.2 or 2.2. The Chevy definitely has better specs than all the others I have seen & is not the same as the Isuzu this time around. In terms of looks I lean towards the Mazda at this stage. I currently have a Mitsubishi which I really like & may just wait to see what Toyota & Mitsubishi produce when their new models come out but this might not be until 2014.

It will be worth waiting for I am sure and once you have it the long wait will be forgotten.
