Static Ip - Khon Kaen

Featured Replies

I might need the facility of a static IP address for access to some works websites in uk. I currently have TOT broadband in house at a village near Singha Brewery on the Mahasarakam Road.

Does anyone know if I can get broadband access with static IP and if so from who ??? I did try TOT but they didn't seem to understand question

Thanks

If you can't get a static IP address on TOT, you could consider a VPN service with your own personal and unique static IP as an alternative, there are many of these available.

If you use a router it should be possible to choose a static IP address that can be configured on your computer. Many folk who download bittorrents set a static IP address. With a basic modem though, I'm not sure.

P.S: The forum for IT and computers is bound to have an expert to guide you on this.

Just a quick addition... 3BB offer a static IP address at an additional cost, not sure about True.

The IP address is assigned by the the ISP and is not something your can solve with router configuration.

Ah yes, sorry, I was thinking about port forwarding. Now you see why I chose my logo and signature!
