Tickets To Thailand's National Parks To Be Sold By Convenience Store 7-11

Tickets to Thailand’s National parks to be sold by Convenience Store 7-11 By Staff Reporter | September 3, 2012

A huge change in the way that we, both Thais and foreign visitors, buy tickets for National parks is underway in Thailand, according to the Ministry responsible for their management.

Tickets, currently bought at the gate, will be available from 7/11 stores nationwide for all the 148 national parks around the nation, in a bid to reduce manpower and potential loss of revenue through losses. The tickets, which may become available either on the Internet or through other electronic means later, will allow the Parks to manage the numbers visiting parks and historical sites and, in some cases, restrict them to ensure that they are kept in good repair.

Some Parks have reported an overage of visitors at different times which have had a negative effect on the pathways and facilities. Park managers will now be able to reduce traffic if need be, and know in advance of the numbers they can expect in the busy seasons.

Tickets from 7/11 stores will become available from this November and eventually will not be available at Park gates. So visitors to the kingdom need to be aware of the changes to avoid confusion and disappointment.

SO WHEN.....???

Totally unsurprisingly, not one of the 7-11 staff i have asked about this in over a dozen locations, know ANYTHING about it....AT ALL. Despite numerous calls to (richard) HEAD Office...

Can we safely assume that graft has won, and logic and forward thinking have 'slipped/fallen' from a 50 storey window again??
